I rarely give 5 ⭐️ unless it really is special and it IS special. I couldn't stop grinning and having my heartstrings pulled.

Gran-Gran was absolutely epic.

The taynix just got to my heart and they saved the day in so many ways. Such brave, lovely little souls.

Spensa and Jorgen need a nap, and so does everyone else! These kids are so young and they had to fight a whole galactic war!

I just loved this series and I'm now feeling lost and confused as to what I have to do with my life 💛

Those short stories were so interesting to give us an insight on everything that happened during the events of Starsight and Cytonic for the people of Detritus! I'll be honest though, I was particularly eager to read Jorgen's story and I was not disappointed.

I also loved how the 3 stories got linked together so flawlessly. It was more of a full book from 3 different perspectives.

FM was such a mysterious character I wasn't sure what to expect from her POV but she has become one of my favourite character of the series, one I rely with most so far. She is such an important member, with her empathy for the slugs (I love the slugs!!) and now as the main diplomat of Detritus!

Alanik annoyed me a bit at first, when she was basically accusing the humans if having held her hostage when that was not the case and then seeking their help. But I warmed up to her, especially when she realised how comfortable the lives of the poeple of ReDawn had been compared to Detritus.

The ending was heartbreaking but I also think, from a strictly plot perspective, that if the National Assembly Leaders including Jorgen's parents hadn't died, the situation would be far worse than simply stagnant. I understand the National Assembly's motivations and I would have probably followed the same actions, but it would have led the planet to, at best, submission, at worst, destruction.

The final story was the story I wanted so badly! I had read a few spoilers so I knew of Jorgen's parents' death, but his trauma from witnessing it in such a way went deep. I really hope he'll get a nap soon, but I'm also so proud of everything he's accomplished!! Vice Admiral at....scud, not even 18yo? And mindblades? Spin is going to pop the ring soon.

Also, the slugs have become some of my favourite characters. They're adorable.

Doomslug is officially one of my favourite character. And so is Hesho.

And M-Bot..... M-Bot....!!!! I was already sad he had lost his original body... I really, really hope he can return and be restored in whatever shape he can. He's part of the family!!

I KNOW I have to read Skyward Flight next - maybe I should have read it in between book 2 and 3 actually - BUT it will be very difficult to be patient enough for Book 4 to arrive at my home!!!

How can it keep on getting better???

I'm immediately moving to the next book but I need to share some thoughts. Spin's character development in Skyward and Starsight is AMAZING ! She became so mature, so smart and reliable, but also fragile and human, I adore her!

And the worldbuilding!! (Universe building??) is fantastic! The first book was good but this one? With its criticism of human imperialism, but love for life - it might have become one of my favourite Sanderson series so far!

I'm so sad for what M-Bot went through and I really hope he'll have a big ship soon.

Where do I START!? Sanderson, man! He did it again!!

I dont usually read sci-fi, but of course the one sci-fi book that would suck me in in 50 pages would be Sanderson's. I don't know what I was expecting but somehow, it was so much better!! He never fails to amaze me, his talent and imagination as a writer are incredible!!

Skyward got me even more invested than Mistborn, which seems insane, but I could NOT drop the book. I am immediately starting the second and I will buy the third tomorrow!!

This book was advised by Neil Gaiman in a talk at the British Library, and it has become one of my favourite fantasy books. It is fantastic in the truest form fantasy stories can take.

I've read many Fairy stories, mostly Young Adult, all published in the last decade, but all were Fairy stories in name only. They might have had Fae as characters, but there was no strangeness, fantastical, mysterious, or twisted aspect to these stories.

'Lud-in-the-Mist' had all this and so much more! It's not our typical fantasy stories, or Fairy story, but it has every ingredient to make it a gem ✨️

That was an entertaining story! It had its ups and downs, it took me a while to get into it, and I was really interested in the actual plot of the game and Death, the chronology of events going back and forth worked out well in the end, but I just couldn't get myself to be interested in most of the characters(except Vi, Tom and Fox) and there was so much forced comedy which...didn't work for me that....it was hard to believe there was hardly any stake for humanity.......

It was still a nice little read and I was quite entertained by it!

This is a thorough history of the Nakba of 1948, which goes into many details of the events.

I had been planning to read this book for quite a while, but the recent events in Palestine have pushed this reading - and many others - forward so I can fully understand the history of Palestine and Israel. The amount of parallels and similarities between the events of 1948 and 2023 is enormous. Most of the book covers the ethnic cleaning of 1948, and the patterns that I've recently witnessed on independent social media's accounts (and the silence and bias for Israel from Western media!!) are eerily similar. There is no doubt that a genocide is taking place in Gaza. We are literally repeating history, page by page.
