this was honestly the same as a touch of darkness, but i actually found that i enjoyed hades’ pov more than persephone’s. i loved that we got a better view of the gods and goddesses of olympia with this perspective. i really enjoyed getting hades’ pov because it really allowed me to better understand his character, his motives, and made me appreciate him more. i read this shortly after reading a touch of darkness, so i felt like the books were very similar and that i was sort of rereading the same scenes over again. i definitely enjoyed the smut more from hades’ perspective. overall, this was an alright read and i appreciated getting hades’ perspective, but it did just feel like a very similar rereading of a touch of darkness for me.
“take her, and i will destroy this world. take her, and i will destroy you. take her, and i will end us all.”

i didn’t love this book of the duet as much as the first book, but it was still really really good. i felt like i was still mourning the loss of jonah and i kept comparing theo and kacey’s love to the love that jonah and kacey felt. regardless, this book was still beautiful and sweet and i’m so glad that both kacey and theo got their happy ending. i loved the epilogues and the story overall. i cried at the beginning, and at the end. i did really enjoy the tension and angst between theo and kacey, but i wish we had gotten a little bit more of their love story. still, i loved this duet so so much!
