I'll Be Gone for Christmas by Georgia K. Boone

I liked this way more than I thought I would!!! The Holiday but make it just a little gay. The banter was so good and I loved all the side characters as if they were my own children.

This was cute. A little cheesy and predictable but what else do you want from a holiday romance? The FMC voice was a little shallow, I wish we’d gotten to know her better outside her obsession with Christmas and red lingerie. I wanted a more exciting reveal of the Hilary connection!!

Okay I’m not gonna lie I had fun with this once the real twist hit. I spent the first 60% thinking that the obvious twist was the right one but boy was I wrong. Mysteries don’t usually get one but this one got me. However, I’m afraid now that I know Miss Frieda’s game I won’t be able to enjoy her other books nearly as much.

I loved every minute of this. I can’t wait to read more of what this author writes.

The twist was just far too obvious for me to enjoy this as much as I wanted to.

Well that was……insane.

We’re officially in the territory of going where the book takes me with no thoughts, just vibes. This one was hard to follow at best and downright off the rails at worst. The end wasn’t much of a twist if you were really paying attention but the middle part was too much. I’m sure if you so much as breathed near that plot set up too hard it would fall apart. But I’m interested to see where it goes?

Look if you’re gonna be just like every other romatasy that’s fine but you can’t also be slow and boring.

Okay I was already pretty bored with the slow pacing and the agonizingly long chapters. The forced baking and magic references made it feel so much longer. And then we got to the
dark magic/DV/rape plot line and I'm officially peacing out.
