I always find myself coming back to this in moments of quiet. It's so fucking strange and offputting the emotions are Big Big Big the enormity of my desire disgusts me, her "cool girl" experiences are described in an objective and digestible manner. She's getting railed on the cold bathroom floor and questioning what led her to this point if any of this is even worth it did she even want this in the first place? To materialize as a Real Person you go for any opportunity presented to you, especially in moments of grief, and in order to recognize or come to terms with who you are as a person or what you choose to define yourself by you find yourself in situations you fucking hate.  It's interesting and borderline voyeuristic watching her come to terms with the weight of her decisions, yeah, we're following her shitty sex life but the emotional intimacy or lack thereof is much more scalding and difficult to stomach. Very cool. I think it is time for a reread.
