I think this book is my favorite of the series so far! Everyone is so conniving—I love it. I also love that someone finally found out about Apollo 😒 Definitely a slow-burn between Hades and Persephone—and I’m loving it 😍

I’m starting to enjoy the series more with each volume I read. It’s definitely not my favorite, but I don’t dislike it. Certainly an interesting and fun take on the Greek Gods.

My fiancée bought this graphic series for me for Christmas, so of course I had to read it. The art isn't really my style, and some of the dialogue can be a bit cringe, but overall I'm enjoying the story and the interesting take on the Greek Gods. I appreciate the serious themes and topics discussed in the book while still maintaining to be light and funny at times. (Make sure to read through the trigger warnings in the beginning of the book.) The book is definitely a lot more mature than I originally thought - for some reason, I thought this was like a middle-grade or YA series, but it's definitely adult. I'm excited to see where the story goes.

There’s a lot of discourse on how to start the Throne of Glass series—with book 1 or the prequels. I decided to start with the prequels since I have ✨mental illness✨ that prevents me from reading anything out of order, and I’m glad I did. I know people say starting with the first book is better because the mystery of Celaena’s past kept them reading, but I liked knowing her backstory. Plus, there’s still a lot about her backstory that we don’t find out about in the prequels, so there will still be an air of mystery going into book 1.
I didn’t like Celaena at first, but she quickly grew on me as I made my way through this book of 5 prequel novellas. I was so happy to seean enemies to lovers storyline between Celaena and Sam but absolutely wrecked when I had a feeling Sam would die and was proved correct (don’t mind me, still sobbing .
I’m excited to see where this story goes in the actual core books of the series, and to find out which characters we’ve met will show up in the future! The Assassin’s Blade is a great way to introduce readers to the characters and this world.

I’m not sure how I feel about this book, or what to say about it, but I still think men are weird.

I can see how this short story helped propel Blake Crouch into becoming a popular author. Though not a very well-written short story, it still contained twists and turns that Crouch is well known for. I've wanted to read this for years and am glad I finally could!
