I really loved this book. I wanted to read it Becky the dogs on the cover. As a dog lover this was the perfect cozy murder mystery. The 2 dogs play a good part in the story along with a kitten and an African Gray Parrot. The narrator of the audiobook was fun to listen to.

This book had a strong start. I liked the idea of Evie walking into a murder scene. Then it becomes a little drawn out and moves slower as the 2 are on the run. The book does pick up again but it takes until the very end. Overall just meh.

I read this for my book club. This is an author I really enjoy and have read often. This book was great! It definitely gives off Stranger Things vibes. Nate goes to his family cabin to get away from his life. There he encounters a man abs young girl who had broken into the cabin. This is no ordinary young girl.

Hearing Gypsy Rose’s story in her own voice is very powerful. She was manipulated and taken advantage of her entire young life. When she and her then boyfriend (who also manipulated her) kill her mother her story just begins. She didn’t know what the real world was like or how to be in that world. This book gives you the story from her perspective.

As we have all experienced the COVID virus this book takes place in the not so near future when the Crown Royale virus has become a pandemic. This virus is similar to COVID but if you are infected and actually survive it changes your personality. You see things in a more positive light. Although sometimes this is a positive outcome, it causes people to do things that put themselves in harm. For example jumping into a rushing river to save a child even if they don’t know how to swim. Two people (one the son of the world’s 3rd most rich men) and woman whose mother has lost her life to the virus.) meet and take ban together to save the world.

A fantastic read! A mother and her children fighting to survive during the Great Depression faced with a husband who up and leaves, poverty, the dust bowl, bring migrant crop pickers in California and fighting for more rights as women. I love how this author always has strong female characters.

This little book would make the perfect coffee table book. It is funny and relatable. Many of these tchotchkes are owned by the majority of the population. I love how this book gives them a small piece of a personality.

I read this for one of my book clubs. It was a good mystery. Being that it is dated it didn’t hold quite the same impact as newer mysteries.

I love Stephen King. When they were first popular I wasn’t much of a reader. I am enjoying them now. This one starts off with a twisted handcuffs fantasy by Jessie’s husband Gerald. He has a heart attack leaving her stuck to the bed. The starry goes on to take an even more sinister path. A great read.
