The Magicians by Lev Grossman

Normally I'm a book-before-TV show/movie person, but admittedly I didn't know about this series until I watched Season 1 of The Magicians on Netflix. The show is amazing and the book is very well-written. Witty, sarcastic and blunt. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and watching Season 2 which premiered today (1/25/17)!

This book was soooo well done. Stephanie Meyer is better known as the author of the Twilight series. If Twilight wasn't for you, or you found it ridiculous, I highly recommend you give The Host a shot. I was pleasantly surprised!

This book was such an interesting concept! A bit slow, but I am glad I stuck it out. Many real-world concepts are discussed and the concept of morality is laid bare. if you're looking for a YA book that is outside the often over-hyped norm, you'll definitely want to give this a shot.

This book is pure poetry in narration. Very whimsical, magical realism. Extremely well-written; I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to read something out of the ordinary that you won't soon forget.

Pretty average novel. I didn't hate it but it wasn't my favorite either. This is a good book to read while travelling or hanging out at the beach.
