Promise Me Sunshine was a very sweet book. I enjoyed the main character’s journey through grief. I felt like some of the dialogue was cringey at times, and I wanted to have a stronger connection with the characters. I think I went into this book expecting more because I loved Ready or Not so much. Overall, I think a lot of people will enjoy this, but it wasn’t my favorite.

I feel like this series is getting too drawn out. I LOVED the first two books, but the rest have felt forced. I think this series should’ve been a trilogy. I don’t know if I’ll read the next book.

I would describe this as wholesome, contemplative satire about what it means to be happy. Fredrick Backman is a genius in his writing!
