This is my first Brandon Sanderson book and wow - I understand the hype. His world building is stunning. I could imagine every setting but the narrative never felt bogged out with description. His character’s are real, loveable and heartfelt. God, I loved every single one of them. An epic found family story that leaves you wanting more.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
DNF: the world building didn’t make sense to me and I struggled to immerse myself in it. Once I thought I had a handle on it and something random would be added like hovercraft which felt out of place a confusing next to the other descriptions.
I didn’t find the characters interesting or likeable. I was promised a zutara love story but this was not what I got.

Much better than the second one. It really doesn’t stop from start to finish. I was addicted to every page.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. However, I did put it down 80% of the way in because it was becoming too predictable. I picked it back up after a year and actually enjoyed the ending even with the predictable miscommunication. I have order book 2 so let’s see where it goes from here.

My favourite Ali Hazelwood book. I could spend all day with Mal and Nolan playing chess. The characters feel real and genuine.

A summer horror romp. Fun and heartfelt in places.

I loved this from start to finish. Amina is one of the best FMC’s I have ever read. She is full of witty banter and she is as cunning and skilled as the legends say.
The only downside is that book 2 isn’t out yet. Give me more!

I owe it to my 16 year old self to give this 5 stars
