I really enjoyed this book once I got into it, but I was a bit disappointed with how it ended! Not enough tied up for me, but I still think it was a great read.

I wanted to love this so bad. But Blake is so frustrating to deal with, Gavin is one-dimensional, and I wasn’t rooting for anyone.

I loved this book, and I usually don’t like stories with magical elements. But I devoured this. Josh was so sweet and funny, Brynn was incredibly easy to root for. I think we’ve all experienced that comfort show that brings us through our darkest times, so it was so fun getting to see her in that world. Sure there were a few bits that didn’t get fully explained but I didn’t care. I wanted this book to be 500 pages!!

This book started strong for me and ended slowly. I found it to be a slog. I could tell Maria and Peter cared for each other but since we didn’t get to see most of their story played out, it all felt like we were just expected to trust that they built this relationship. I felt they were far too dependent on each other at times, and there were so many scenarios where assumptions were made that just could have been avoided.

It was a disappointing end to the series, but I still enjoyed it.
