Rounding up to three stars for creativity and unique writing that I enjoyed.
I finally finished this after DNFing almost a year ago. I really wanted to love this. There are so many aspects to the story that intrigued me, and so many things that could have been fleshed out in a more interesting way. The middle portion of the book was extremely tedious and difficult to finish. I was initially interested in the relationships between most of the main characters, but none of them felt fleshed out enough for me to ever become fully invested. Maybe the series as a whole will accomplish what I hoped I would find in this book.
