Despite being only pictures, it was a really funny book. Some pictures where a bit hard to decode, letters randomly on places. But most pictures had a clear message. :)

Another fantastic book in this series. This one has even more magic, mystery and action than the previous books. It also keeps getting better and better. Though I didn't like how our main character changed and tried to do something she was clearly warned against. But I guess that happens with kids/teenagers.

The cats were there again too, and funny. I loved the cat that always changed its personalities.

I really can't wait to read on further. Gah so frustrating that it takes so long for the paperbacks to get out. :(

Small review because a lot of things happened that are spoilers and I don't want to spoil this epic book.

So the story immediately starts where left off in the previous book, and while it has been a year, I never felt the need to read the previous book again, I was just sucked in the book immediately and it was like I just took a break and continued reading the book.
Which is really great, some books have little recaps and while that is nice, I think it wouldn't have fitted this book.

And what a ride this book was, I can say, I was sad because of a lot of things, I even cried a few times. Yes it was that sad! But I also laughed a thousand times and enjoyed the book.

Thanks Gina Damico, for the awesome book, and I really hope you will write a new series!

This book is a retelling of the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale. I think that already says a whole lot about the story and what will happen.

For a retelling, I have to say it was masterfully done. I didn't know it was a retelling until much more hints were dropped.

The witches were scary and manipulative, especially one, who made everyone think she was the good one.

The school idea was wonderfully done, kids get food all day long. Beginning with breakfast, ending with snacks while studying... ok they were free to do whatever they want. I can imagine that also lures enough kids. Freedom, Food and Fun, 3 things kids would love to do but schools in general don't give. And then you get this school in your neighbourhood. Wow.

I loved the main character, I also felt so sorry for her, for the burden she was carrying was way too big, and I don't understand why her dad never talked more to her. Though ok, I guess he was too busy with Molly (more about her later). I was cheering throughout the whole book for our main character, saying she should continue to fight, and Oh No not go to the dark side (they do have cookies, but deadly ones). And the ending, how she fought, how brave she was, I loved that. Go girl!

Then we have various side characters, which I didn't all like. Andrew was ok, but it was a bit up and down for me. At times I really liked him, at other times I just wanted to smack him hard.

And Molly, oh dear lord Molly. She was truly and absolutely a (sorry for my language) bitch who didn't like/love kids. She even locks up our main character, gives no food, no thought that maybe it might go bad. Seriously, how did Dad marry her? I know love makes blind, but this is a serious case of blindness.

In overall this was a super wonderful, magical and lovely book. It brings up grieving, how to cope, that not everything is what it seems and much much more. I would really recommend it to everyone!

I wasn't sure what to think of the book before I started it. It sounded quite awesome after I read the blurb, and after reading the book, I now know for sure, this book is epic!

Craig was a wonderful character. I loved how strong he was, calling a hotline when everything goes bad and also sticking to the whole treatment plan, even having a good time at the hospital.

I can say, you see that the author knows his stuff about psychiatric hospitals, it was at times just like I was there, not reading the book, but just standing between those people and watching them. So applause for that. It is not something everyone can achieve, it really made me love the book even more.

Really everyone should read this book, it is just wonderful and it shows a great character, who struggles, but also does he best to find his way back in society, without having all those problems.

In a small neighbourhood are various mysteries, from a Man-bat to a Witch House. And now added to that, is a Secret Tree. What is a Secret Tree? Well a tree where you can put in your secret and it will be eaten by a ghost, well that is the story that is being told.

Minty was a wonderful character, I really liked her, though I also felt sad for her. Growing up is no fun. Her best friend Paz leaves her for another friend (who for most book was a total (sorry for the language) bitch). Luckily Minty finds another friend, named Raymond.

Raymond was an interesting character, I quite soon knew what was wrong though, and also why he was living in that model house and not with his mom. And who his mom really is. :)

I loved Raymond and Minty together, solving the secrets and pasting them in a big book under pictures of those people. :) And of course spying at evening and being mistaken for a prowler. Lol.

I didn't like Thea or Melina though. At times they were ok, but most of the time Thea was just whiny. Maybe if she was just a bit nicer Minty wouldn't do the things she does.

The secrets were fun and interesting. Some were sad, some were happy. Most were really big secrets that you wouldn't want anyone finding out about.

I really loved this book. It is all about growing up, last summer before a bigger school, finding new friends and finding yourself.

I would write more, but I don't want to say more, find it out yourself by reading this book.

READ IT! It is absolutely beautiful, stunning and lovely!

I would write a review, I tried many times, but I just can't find the words to describe how awesome this book is. Sorry, you all will just have to read it to experience it.

There are some parts that aren't all the good, I sometimes got a bit tired of Aristotle and how gloomy he was, but other than that, wow!

And I would love to have this in my collection, but sadly, every edition has those ugly as hell stickers on it. Yeah for it winning prices people, but no need to stuff so much stickers on it that you can barely read the title. :\

Recommended to, everyone!
