I absolutely loved this book. Any book that makes me feel some type of way (whether good, bad or indifferent) is good with me. All three main characters brought something different out of this book. I appreciate the author for allowing these women to just ‘be’, in all of their mess, trials, and triumphs, they were just able to be.

Highly recommend!

Took a while to get through the plot, but I enjoyed the story even though it seemed a bit extreme having someone in your space who’s a complete stranger. With the extreme-ness, I still appreciated the intensity of Tallie and “Emmett” relationship over one weekend. I would still recommend this book to others and let them decide on their own.

I absolutely loved this debut novel. The multicultural challenges faced was depicted throughout the entire book - I appreciate reading the authors thoughts behind the makings of this book as well. The character build up was great. As one of my book club members stated in our discussion “all chapters were closed”. Charmaine did a great job with all their stories. I would highly recommend this read!
