Transcendent. Painful. Elegant. The kind of book that you only read once every few years.

The story and characters were great. The imagery was great. Sometimes the writing felt a bit repetitive, and like the book could’ve used a continuity editor.

I will stay wishing Larran had been a woman.

This was my infinity war.

That being said, I would also say that if you haven’t read many of Brando Sando’s other books, there may be a fair bit of confusion as to some of the references and explanations, especially toward the end. But if you’re well read in the cosmere (Elantris, Warbreaker, Mistborn, SLA to name the ones I found relevant!) you will be VERY much rewarded!

Really could’ve done without the narrator but otherwise love to see a good lesbian romance book!

BRANDO SANDO YOU ARE A GENIUS!

Yes, with all Sanderson books, you get out what you put it. This is one you HAVE to commit to and trust the process. He knows what he's doing, and careful attention is heavily rewarded. While it is a slow burn, it's important to know that everything Sanderson does has a purpose and he is a masterful creator of this universe. My mind is blown by the scope of the SLA.
