I had some problems with this book. 1. Can it even be called a book? It’s not even 100 pages, taken from “Birdology,” and $20 USD. I am NOT made of money here! It felt like a straight up cash cow by Sy and/or her publishers. I wish they just made “Birdology” longer to incorporate this longer short story.
2. The personifications with these hummingbirds was over.the.top for me in ways that turned this into a hbo drama.
3. Some passages reeked of privilege that didn’t sit right with me for some reason.
Overall, okay read but you should take advantage of that good ole library because this was one overpriced MF. Now, please excuse me; I’m goin back to bird watching…
