I really wanted to like this book, but it was just all over the place. It felt like the author didn't even know her own characters half the time. I get it that the ideas and views and attitudes can change for characters quickly sometimes but there was no real meat around it. It was like they did this, then that, then this again and I just was left wanting to understand the main characters more. Also the word choices for the MC was weird sometimes.

The only reason I kept reading was that the spicy scenes were actually the best part. (blow pop anyone?) But that being said, it was weird. Those scenes felt like a totally different book and characters.

I related to the main female character quite a bit, but the way the author didn't give any back story to the male characters mean ways but kept referring to them repeatedly was odd.

And don't get me started on the dad and his relationship with his daughter... the author made you think it was gross but then just sort of dropped it. Also, the way the dad handled certain things was also just not believable.

I genuinely loved this story. The meet cute was so original and the characters believable and well thought out, it was so easy to fall in love with all the characters even with so many of them! The writing really made me feel like I was there, smelling the salty air and taking in the scenery. I was also amazed at how she was able to make someone who wasn’t even alive anymore seem like they were there the entire time.
