This started off so strong! But it went sideways around the halfway mark and I struggled to finish it.

This was a very unique fantasy read and I was hooked from the start. 

I enjoyed the lore of the Toadmen and the banter between the two main characters was *chefs kiss* 

However it did lose me a bit around the halfway- ¾ mark, the story started to feel rushed from here. It didnt end on a cliffhanger and the epilogue leads me to believe its a standalone, but some things just felt like they were left hanging? 

Overall I enjoyed this book, but I dont think I would read it again.

Its no secret that I absolutely love Lynn Painters books, she is without a doubt my favourite romcom author. 

This was definitely not my favourite book of hers however I still found it a highly enjoyable romcom read!

Think Wedding crashers meets No strings attached. There's plenty of banter and funny moments sprinkled with a touch of spice! Definitely recommend!

If you've read Powerless you know how this story is going to end. Doesn't make it hurt any less. In fact it makes it hurt more. 
This is a Grumy x Sunshine fantasy romance, there's tension and banter, its sweet and it will absolutely rip your heart into shreds.
**Bonus points for having extra Kai scenes 🤭

I love that these twists just keep getting me! Another wildly entertaining read!
