I don’t think I can rate this book, and I’m not sure I can talk too much about it, but I will say it's incredibly well written and the audiobook is so haunting. It isn’t a book for everyone. It deals with sexual abuse, with detailed/graphic scenes. I know everyone experiences trauma differently, but I think the Russell really captured the confusion, anger, and array of emotions that comes with trauma. The book will definitely stay with me.
I am not going to do an in-depth review, but I will say the one thing that I really love in the book is the character relationships in this book, especially between the Boneless Mercy women. They were very strong and, to us a descriptive that Laini Taylor used to blurb the book- fierce. And I do not just speak in terms of being these incredible warriors, but their personal strengths, including their connections with each other as friends. It was very special to read, and I truly loved that the book focused on that as opposed to romantic relationships.
