The Scent of Shadows by Vicki Pettersson

Must confess this book did not float my boat whatsoever when initialized, but got my attention rather quickly. Definitely for a tween audience, with great action and plot. Easy summer read.
Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
Most times realistic endings satisfy me, but not so in this book. Found myself wanting a fairytale ending. Like his other books, a good quick read which captivates from chapter one.

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
Good read for the sexually inexperienced, sheltered, or those in a sexual famine. Other than that, don't waste your time. It's a pimped out 2012 Harlequinn.

The Two Minute Rule by Robert Crais
Definitely a missing connection throughout the book, but still a good summer read.

Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James

In order to really give the story an opinion, I've opted to read the trilogy of smut. Partially because every once in a while, one needs some. Other than fulfilling that need, there is a great literary void. Even worse than the first.
Fifty Shades Freed by E.L. James
Very happy to have read the trilogy, in spite of my complete dislike of all three. As i said before, every once in a while, trashy is good. Like an occasional Big Mac w/fries.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Katniss' voice is heard. We take the journey with her. What a great book.

There are no safe characters here. What a great ending to the story. Dark to the end.
Rome 1960: The Olympics That Changed the World by David Maraniss
Factual, insightful take on what happened. A sound, balanced book which captivates & holds the reader. Doesn't hurt to have read most while current Olympics were televised.
