I first bought this book back when it was released.  I believe that was as far back as 2014!  I had been trying to increase my reading of woman Irish authors and I had read a review for this in one of the Irish Newspapers.  Then it was left on a shelf for a decade.

What a waste!  This book is probably one of the better-told WW1 sagas.  Its characters sing of the page (in one case literally :)).  And it even got an anti-romantic such as myself all wrapped up in its love story.

I will be reading more of Susan Lanigan soon and I wish her all the best with the two Novels she is currently looking for a publisher for.
