Don’t Quit the Day Job was just the laugh I needed book after finishing a book with a huge TW. If you’re looking for suggestive banter, with a jerk boss and funny assistant then this is for you. From the very first few conversations between Max (MMC) and Lila (FMC) you knew this would be hilarious. Max is a super hot and arrogant lawyer who has had all of his assistants quit after a few weeks. When Max’s partners Remy and Kingston bet him $1000 that his next assistant would quit within a month, Max knew he had to make the next one last. Lila was headed to an audition for Telemundo but the line was crazy long so her and her new line buddy Skye decided to go to the job fair next door. Next thing they know, they are hired and now working for the top firm in New York. There’s great friendships between the partners as well as all the assistants. Don’t Quit The Day Job was a funny rom-com that I absolutely needed to pull me out of a funk.

The narrators Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson rocked their performance in Deadly Illusions. Please check the trigger warnings when listening to/reading this book, especially if you are sensitive to DV. When Jenna met Colton she thought she thought their relationship was perfect, until it wasn’. The moment he put his hands on her, she was put in a tailspin. Why would he do this? He said sorry. No one can know. It won’t happen again. Listening to Jenna’s whole story and the twists and scary turns had me on the edge. When her acquaintance, Damian helped her when her brother was injured, she looked at him and the safety he represented more closely. Colton was hella toxic and any kindness from random men given to Jenna would set him off. This story was heavy, tense, sad, frustrating but still hopeful.

Oh my gosh Caged Desires was wild trigger heavy ride. CNC? Yes please!! I would make sure you carefully read the trigger warnings because this book, is heavy on them. I live for the darkness that Caged Desires gave me and ate up every word. Max moved in secret to Seaside on the Oregon coast, to run away from her family and the man they wanted her to marry. What she didn’t anticipate is that 3 crazy MMA crazies would become obsessed with her. Caine takes what he wants, Drew is our injured fighter, and Adam is the coach. Uncaged Desires is so spicy I felt like in undies were going to melt right off. The book is spicy but the story is great! That cliffhanger and me screaming! What happens with Max and Carson!!

If you’re looking for an insta attraction spicy read then The Hero +Vegas = No Regrets. Image getting together with the wedding party for your best friend’s wedding, and laying eyes on someone you feel an instant connection with. That’s what happens with Sophia and Worth. When they were paired up for a treasure hunt they run around searching for “something borrowed “, but ended up getting married for fun! Samantha Brentmoor and Grayson Owens were the perfect pair to narrate for Sophia and Worth. I loved that even though Sophia and Worth got married on a whim, they wanted to give the relationship a shot. Worth is perfect book boyfriend, he’s a billionaire, he caring , he packing (if you know what I mean), an he attentive in all areas. The Hero +Vegas = No Regrets was a binge worthy read that you’ll want to pick up immediately.

The Blue Devils Hockey series is on fire with book 2, Skate The Line. Not only is our MMC Rhodes the captain of the Blue Devils but he’s Russian too, yummy. Rhodes is a single dad in desperate need for a nanny that does try to hop in his bed. All the nanny’s before Sunny (FMC), were after him and couldn’t care less about his adorable daughter Ellie. Sunny fled a horrible situation and decided to give working at a nanny service for high profile athletes a shot again. Sunny is amazing and her personality is all sunshine, and Rhodes is a grouch. ( Sunny calls him Oscar! LOL) This story is heartwarming, and, tense, steamy and just over all a freaking fantastic read. When I finished the epilogue, I was left in a slump. Another 5 star book by SJ Sylvis.

I loved the whole premise of this Whirlwind, Professor Ryker West (a professional storm chaser) and his student, Finley Buckley. I can’t tell you the last time I learned so much in a book, as someone from Southern California, I knew nothing about twisters but I can’t say that now. I love how jealous Ryker got when Joey was picked up on the way to meet the Tempest Tracker team. Even though he told Finley that they couldn’t fool around….again he still secretly wanted her and felt possessive. I loved all the action mixed with the romance of Whirlwind, who knew tornados could make people so hot. If proffor West ever told to get on all fours and hold on to the headboard you bet I would!! I really enjoyed Kayla Grosse’s storytelling as it really had me invested in these crazy storm chasers.

Vengeful Lies is the best Mafia romance I’ve read this year!! We have a ruthless mafia heir Eli Monti, who cares for no one but his family. Eli needs to marry in order to take over the family business, but he’s not real interested in an arranged marriage. Jewel is a hitwoman, yes you read that right, HITWOMAN, how bad ass is that? And Jewel got a job to play with and then kill Eli Monti. Jewel starts toying with him by breaking in to his house leaving a note with a knife through it and a dead rat in his underwear drawer! Hilarious!!! Because who has the balls to mess with the Italian mafia? When Eli finds he needs to marry soon he makes a deal with Jewel, marry him and he will return what he took from her. It’s a simple marriage of convenience, but feeling start to grow when you have that much chemistry and a shared love of killing. The twist at the end was chefs kiss, I mean I didn’t see it coming. The m darkness and madness these two shared was just soo good. Please promise to keep writing these books, I can’t get enough.

The Roommate Mistake is the best audio book I’ve listened to this year. Connor Crais and Kit Swann absolutely crushed this book. And the meet cute was by far the most hilarious thing I’ve read in a long time, that poor chicken. Holt (MMC) is a beast of golden retriever/ rugby captain and a helper to everyone. And when Ziggy lost her job on Holts watch he wanted to help, so he asked her to house sit/dog sit while he was away. Ziggy (FMC) was working in a cruise ship but came home when she found out she was pregnant. She didn’t want to move home because her mom and step dad did naked Tuesdays , ewww!!! I don’t blame her so she took Holt up on his offer. Now I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the second FMC of The Roommate Mistake, Jessica the snot blowing , fart aiming lovable menace of a Frenchie. This whole book was amazing from start to finish, it was funny, sweet and so steamy. Sign me up for all the Copper Valley Pounders Rigby goodness!!

This was my second book by Ava Miles and it was a really fun time with mystery mixed in to spice it up. I’ve never read any Nora Roberts books but my mom does, so I recommend Nora Robert’s Land because I knew she would love all the references I was missing. The plot was different from most book I read, which kept me fully invested in Tanner and Meredith and their mission to find out who done it. Nora Robert’s Land is small town perfection, I loved how Meredith proved her ex Rick-the-Dîck wrong and had her own HEA just like in all Nora Robert’s books. I was so glad to see this was a part of a big series because I loved the writing and storytelling.

This was such a sweet story about how two teenagers both danced around their feelings for one another, until they figured it out as adults….well eventually. The found family was so amazing in Better Than Friends, and watching all these people around Olive who loved her even her absentee parents (in their own way) . I loved how every single person in this book had amazing banter, even sweet old Gram. The flash backs to the past definitely helped give context to the story and filled in questions I had. Noah was a low key golden retriever who didn’t to want to let anyone close and our girl Olive just wanted stability. We get our HEA and a super sweet surprise in the epilogue. If you are in the mood for a sweet, small town, second chance RomCom then Better Than Friends should be your next read.
