Okay, personally I really enjoyed reading this book. It took me back to when I stayed up until 3 am reading YOI fanfics and I loved that. I was hooked and I flew through this read and I had a really fun time … however this is an okay book at best.

The romance is pretty one dimensional and Olive is so stereotypically “not that girl” that it drove me a little crazy. It also became really difficult to see Adam and Olive as unique characters because all I could see was Rey and Kylo Ren. I think this author could have really made their story her own and expanded their characters into something unique but she really didn’t do that. It didn’t outgrow the stereotype of fan fiction.

Now, this is not a dis on fanfiction because I have read fics that deserve awards for how beautifully written they are and deserve to be published. The Love Hypothesis doesn’t fit that description.

It’s a fun read (especially if you like some spice) but it’s not the best romance out there.

I absolutely adore this book! This fast-paced Beauty and the Beast retelling gave me exactly what I wanted and more. I read the entire book in the middle of the night because I could not put it down.

Feyre was an incredibly written female character and I loved seeing her growth throughout the novel. I did have a few problems at the end of the book because the romance got a bit cheesy (I mean I love cheesy in a romcom romance novel, but not in a fantasy war novel).

The world building in this book was something I loved as well because it wasn’t vomited at you through exposition, but you also weren’t confused what was going on the whole time. It had a good balance.

I also got frustrated at the writing in the first few chapters. The sentences were didn’t really seem well thought out, but it got a lot better. I think the author was just trying to get to the good part along with the reader (if that makes sense).

I’m super excited to read more from Sarah J Maas and I am so so glad she lived up to the hype!
