Even though the love triangle went on waaaay too long, I enjoyed this book and the series as a whole. The twists, secrets, and reveals were fun and entertaining. I do wish there had been more puzzles and riddles but I still had a good time reading the series

Fun and fast paced. I’m going to jump right into book 2. I did want more puzzles and riddles though

This was so disappointing. It was one of my most anticipated reads for the summer. I loved The Dead Romantics and The Seven Year Slip but A Novel Love Story fell so flat. This is a romance book about romance books and the romance was poorly done. It was underdeveloped and the third act conflict was just weird. Our FMC is transported into the fictional town of her favorite books series and the whole book felt like listening to somebody tell you about their favorite book series. That over shadowed the grief and growth of Elsy. This book was trying to have a plot while telling you the plot of 4 fictional books and it didn’t work. I’ll still pick up the next Ashley Poston book, but this one was a dud.

Solid start to the series! There’s fae, humans, witches, and vampyrs. There’s also a murder mystery and some romance. I enjoyed the plot and the tension between the love interests. The spice was good too! I also loved the side characters. There were times where I didn’t understand why the FMC didn’t questions things and that was a little frustrating. I do think the plot could’ve been tidied up a little and I would’ve like a little more world building but overall I liked the book and will definitely pick up book 2.

I love a witchy rom com and I especially love Erin Sterling’s books. The Wedding Witch has a new setting and a different vibe from the first two books but I loved it! It was funny and steamy and it kept me entertained for the entire book. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I would’ve liked more backstory for our FMC.

I loved the idea of the book and characters but the execution lacked depth. I’ll still read the next book to see what happens next and hopefully this was just a bumpy start to the series

Sweet and steamy! I loved it. I especially loved the characters. I thought they were so relatable and appreciated reading about characters in their 40s.

I really liked this and will definitely continue the interconnected series. I enjoyed the characters and the romance. I do think the amount of spice was a detriment and slowed the plot down though.

I liked this! I really loved Lark and her growth through out the book. I didn’t read the blurb so I was pleasantly surprised with the marriage of convenience, which is one of my favorite tropes. I did find the pacing to be off and the mystery could’ve been great but it wasn’t given much page time. Honestly, I kind of forgot about it while reading. This book focused more on the romance and not so much the killing and mystery. Even though I really enjoyed it and will definitely pick up the 3rd book, I can see why others were disappointed.
