Very disappointing. I thought this would be an easy 5 stars but it was just ok

Honey Cut is book 2 of the Lyonesse trilogy, an MMF romance following Mark, Tristan, and Isolde. The pacing in Honey Cut is much slower than it was in Salt in the Wound (prequel novella) and Salt Kiss (book 1) and you just have to trust the process. I wasn’t expecting that so I was a little frustrated with the first half. Now that I’ve finish the pacing makes sense. The drama and spice were so good! Isolde’s connection to the Church is so interesting. I love the web of lies and secrets and can’t wait for the final book!

I love urban fantasy so I really enjoyed this book with witches and vampires. I liked the mystery surrounding Connie’s disappearance. I’m excited to continue this series and learn more about the characters and hidden supernatural world that was introduced because there’s definitely more going on that we don’t know about just yet.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
I couldn’t connect with the characters and at almost half way through I just didn’t care. The FMC was a little unlikable and at the time of DNFing I still didn’t know much about the mmc other than he was a goat farmer

I did a lot of skimming after 60%. Things just got a little repetitive and drawn out. I still overall love and recommend this duet. I know the author has said it was originally supposed to be one book so she tried to get book 2 out quickly and it shows. Still some of the best spice I’ve read

I loved this! It’s very character driven but I loved getting to know all of them. I loved the different relationships and friendships within the group. This was also some of the best spice I’ve read. This author really knows how to write group scenes. I also loved the commentary on being true to yourself and not trying to fit into society’s boxes and choosing your own family.

This was cute! I really enjoyed the STEM academia setting. I liked the characters and thought they made such a sweet couple.
