He's an excellent narrator and I really enjoy the personality he gave to some of the stories. My main complaint is that some stories are drug out sooooo very long with an unnecessary level of detail (looking at you Pysche).
I felt like the creation of the gods, from Gaia to the Pantheon went pretty quick and felt like a summary, and then some of the minor gods and just mortals the gods toyed with in some way had completely fleshed out stories instead. I would have expected it to be the other way around and found that very disappointing.
Would have given it higher but the miscommunication thing in the third act...I disagree with who you put the onus on. Sure, he didn't ask her to stay. But he was the only one that spoke up first the whole time! He said he liked her first, he wanted to take her on a date, etc. He made all the first leaps vocally, and considering he reads like he might be on the spectrum, that's huge. She had absolutely no right to react the way she did when she got back and he thought she had left again. You're the one with the history of leaving without a word! Of course he's going to think that.
And furthermore, either dumb on her or weak attempt by the author - there's no way she had to drive down right then for that interview. The guy had been trying to get ahold of her for months - he would have waited.
Worst part of the book. But seeing the town rally around him when his heart was breaking was super sweet.
I love this adorable town. I would probably hate living in it in real life, but the antics are a fabulous mix of sweet and hilarious.
I was originally liking it the most of the series so far, but their requisite being stupid moment ruined it. Ruby, you're an idiot and he deserves much better than you. I don't get Payton taking her side when they had dinner; she keeps assuming the worst about him and wants to make him pay regardless. She did it when she thought he left her without saying goodbye, she did it with the potential cheating. Seriously, go to his office, refuse to move, and slap him in front of his father/boss and an admin assistant?? You are a grown ass woman and I have no idea how you passed law school and the bar with these lapses in judgement.
Honestly this couple has a messy divorce in their futures if they stay together.
