Enjoyed this overall but I'm a binge reader. So, the repeat trope of "oh l can't say anything because magic" and then the "why can't you answer my questions? I don't understand because I am obtuse” just kept getting annoying and felt too convenient. Joanna is smarter than that. I think if I read this book over a longer period of time I wouldn’t have found that as frustrating.

I did appreciate that everything was wrapped up satisfactorily at the end and that not EVERY character got paired off. Plus books about books is my favorite fantasy sub-genre.
