I loved how all the short stories followed within the storyline of the book, it made the read really enjoyable especially after Queen of Shadows. Reading it in this placement was the best option as I really liked how you learnt more about the past of the Aelins story and how the relationship between her and Sam grew and developed into her first love. I know the ending was going to be heartbreaking and YET I still found that chapter so sad to read. Honestly one of my favourite books in the series so far.
