im technically gonna give this book a 4.5 because the 6 years ago pov for miles kind of annoyed me, but that’s just me being nit picky. otherwise, i.absolutely.loved.this.book. favorite across all genres that ive read so far. this was the book that got me out of a 1 1/2 month reading slump and i may or may not have bought all the other books by colleen hoover. it also helped that i am also an aeronautical nerd so i felt that i could connect with miles in that way i guess. i didn’t necessarily cry as much as I expected and the way others said how they did, but there were some heart wrenching moments that made my eyes water. oh and predicting a backstory plot correctly still shocked me and rarely happens, so yeah. it’s a book I’d recommend, but it IS 18+!

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SWEET TITLE AND COVER ART!!! yes, there are feel-good lovey parts, but yoon peels back so many layers within the “no so love story” that it’s impossible to ignore. parts made me cry and the fact i personally could relate to the things that were happening in her life just made the story resonate with me more. she has done it again. would recommend.

with the childhood friends to lovers trope, initially i was kind of hesitant to read it, but this book had definitely changed my opinion on that. especially when it shifted to rivals to lovers. i ABSOLUTELY loved this book! the plot twists, the pop references, the competitiveness level, the teamwork, the friendships, did i mention plot twists? my gaming/tech heart was filled with joy while reading this book. just everything was amazing. this is definitely my new favorite YA contemporary romance comfort read, no doubt about it.
