my first daphne du marier book and i loved it!! so tense and i couldn’t put it down. the writing is amazing, the description of manderley is beautiful and the plot is incredible. i love this book. du marier leaves the main character nameless which is an interesting choice, however i thought it brought us closer to the storyline and made me really feel like i was mrs de winters.

READ THIS BOOK NOW!
it’s an emotional rollercoaster. one chapter you’re balling your eyes out because it’s heartbreaking and the next you’re smiling. it’s informative and gives an insight into domestic abuse. this book changed my perspective on a lot of things, it opened my eyes. the characters are well developed and i couldn’t help but fall in love with them, one of the saddest books i’ve ever read.

i absolutely loved this book! i am hooked on the twilight series. although the first book was very predictable, this one was thrilling. i couldn't put it down and read another chapter whenever i could. my favourite thing in a book is how the characters are portrayed and being able to really imagine them, i have fallen in love with bella, edward and the rest of the cullens. i always become emotionally attached to characters but this is a new level. i'm nervous to finish the series because i will miss it so much haha. one of my new favourite books! <3 if i could, i would have read this in one sitting.

A realistic story following the complicated relationship between Connell and Marianne over the course of a few years. It is captivating to watch their connection strengthen and weaken, much like real life. Overall I enjoyed this book however I didn't find it as hooking as I would have hoped. The character's seemed slightly bland but that didn't ruin the book for me.
