This series was perfectly YA. It was finished so wel the second book was faster than the first- the first get so slow and this tied up all the loose ends. I understand the hype because the premise of the plot was executed so well. At times it felt like the plot was inspired by Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, dacre being a version of lord Voldemort and Roman being Draco.

It was such a slow start but it really picked up I’m excited to read the next one. I hate reading about the trenches though

Ah this started off so well I really thought this was going to be a 5 star read. It was funny it was witty it had cliff hangers at all the right places .. then I read the later parts and it all went downhill it was so fast and I wished we got a deeper insight into how the characters were feeling it felt so surface level. It was good though but it felt like a let down
Also I hate that there was mention of the pandemic but I did like how there was a lot of talk about failings and flailing about in life. I didn’t like the email newsletters they sort of didn’t fit the characters.
