Great themes and messages. Some stuff felt a bit out of no where and confusing, but it’s an important book.

Does a relatively good job balancing the history of humans, and the histories of different cultures. It's still a bit Eurocentric, but not overtly so. The beginning is the slowest slog ever-- describing the anthropologic and genetic emergence of homosapiens over other types of early humans. The rest of the book is great. I think an audiobook is the best format for this book because it feels like a podcast. Reading it would be a bit boring and too slow for me.
Overall, an informative and interesting book that weaves together the different histories of cultures, societies, and current social systems pretty well.
