The writing in this book is abysmal, but here's the sentence that made me DNF,
"Bingeing on large slices of the crispy eggplant pizza slices I likes from the pizza parlor by Wheeler, just to rid myself of them in the dining hall bathroom."
The clunkiness of Leach's writing really bothered me and I'm not going to spend my time trudging through it.

The start of this didn't catch my attention and I'm not inclined to continue.

I decided to read this after binging the first two seasons of the show, but I can't bring myself to keep going with this book. It's a chop. I don't want read about or sympathize with a slave owner protagonist. I've seen reviews where people "say it's accurate to the 1700s" and "it was written at a time with different social norms", but to be frank I. don't. care.

I should have known I wasn't going to enjoy this book when, in the introduction, the author insinuated that he regained his sight because he reconciled with his parents.

This book is fine, but I'd rather read about Greek mythology.

I'm not feeling this book right now. The premise is good, so I could see myself getting into it at another time.
