Slapped this book into my wishlist after seeing a very strong recommendation on TikTok. I really liked this. The poem about the Pulse Nightclub shooting broke my heart. I loved the poems about finding yourself and finding love and finding life. Not sure if this is one I'll keep or read again, but definitely a good one.

I really enjoyed this book! It wasn't what I was expecting, but I don't know what I was expecting (I found it on booktok I think in some horror list so I put it in my wishlist without actually seeing what it was about). But this book was weird and twisty, full of murder and death and magic (which I really wasn't expecting!). I would've liked just a little more tacked onto the end, but that's more personal preference, it doesn't really need anything else.

I want to start off by saying I did not finish this book. I tried really hard, I got 47% there, but god I just can't. I'm sure this is a good book, the world of it seems interesting, but I can't get into it. The writing isn't what I expected, it's not even long winded, in fact a lot of it is rather short, but somehow it just keeps going without much actually happening. I had read that the first 1/3 of the book was a bit of a slog, so I pushed past that, but it didn't seem to improve for me. I also don't like Paul, he seems... I don't know the word I'm looking for, but he's a bit annoying really.

I think I'll just be sticking to the movies.

I would like to start off with I didn't get much more than 30 pages into this book before I stopped. I'm a big fan of FNAF so when I saw there were books I got excited! More lore! But... This book was extremely boring and the writing style is very simplistic (which is, fine), but also repetitive in areas. I tried to like it, I did, but I won't be finishing this one and I will not be buying the others.

It was... kinda cute. The book started out well, it was being cute and charming, and then it ended up repetitive, annoying, and lacking chemistry between the characters. I liked Wanda best tbh, at least she was sassy and made sense. My BIGGEST peeve about this book is that Spoilerwhen Cassie finds out Aiden is the guy she'd been liking, AND learns that his child's mom died the year they were supposed to meet, instead of thinking "oh my gosh he didn't meet me because she died!" She thinks "oh my god he didn't meet me because he didn't like me the way I like him :(" like??? HELLO?????? That makes no sense. It was so dumb.

And the lack of chemistry in the sex scenes makes me sad. They felt very dry. Also I don't understand Aiden's obsession with Cassie's nipples, that felt... really odd to me. Wasn't a fan of their "dirty talk" either (I could not take it seriously, I tried). There wasn't even real drama until the last 2/3's of the book and it was only caused because Cassie was being stupid again (but more reasonable this time given the circumstances so I'll give that), but I didn't even care at that point.

This was a B&N blind book, promises of sexy scenes and baby guy Fieri... not enough spice and barely there chemistry. It might be a little harsh, but god this book actually annoyed the hell out of me.

Page 49 DNF. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't what I read. The writing style in itself is odd to me. He'll be writing something perfectly normal and then throw in some weird sentence like Tim's bladder tightening with piss while he's enjoying his scotch?? It feels weird. I don't like it. And there's a whole page practically dedicated to ragging on poor Newt (from an adult perspective), which feels like the most stereotypical depiction of a nerd I have ever read in my life. I know I didn't get far in, but the characters don't feel like actually people to me.

Page 20. DNF. I just don't like the writing style if I'm being perfectly honest, it's very wordy. I'm sure it's a fine book, but not for me.

I will say this book was better than I was expecting. It still had parts that made me go "hmm, not sure about this", but overall it was a good book. My particular favorite part was the graveyard scene. Some parts of the story do get repetitive as others have mentioned, and the ending is rather underwhelming after all the build up to Rae becoming a sacrifice. I do wish Leon was more of a monsterous demon, but I can't complain too much, I write demons like that too. Not sure if I'll pick up the other books in the series.

Page 53, DNF. I was going to wait until I was 100 pages in to stop, but honestly I just wasn't finding the book interesting and the characters seem really bland. Also not sure why everyone thinks the car hitting the MC has anything to do with the dead girl in the forest?? Seems like an odd jump to me.

DNF page 72. I've read 3 of Neil Gaiman's novels, Good Omens, Neverwhere, and Stardust, I really liked those ones. American Gods? 72 pages in and nothing happening, very slow, and rather boring for me. I'm sure it's a fine book, but not for me.
