Summary:
Ana Herrera comes back home after years of being away, the home that she’s attempted to keep at a distance due to the hurtful memories she experienced in her childhood. While she settles back into her hometown, she faces her recurrent insecurities and fights to not let the memories take away the years of healing she had achieved. Wyatt Anderson just lost his mother in a tragic accident, which left him to care for his younger brother, Owen, alone. Wyatt struggles with juggling grief, guardianship, and his budding career. Ana and Wyatt intend and insist on being just friends. They continue to spend time together and their chemistry can’t be denied. Is coming back home just what they both needed to heal?

My thoughts:
I honestly had no idea what I was expecting when going into this book but to put it simply… I utterly adored it with all my heart. I sped through it. The flow of the story was fast but not rushed.

Loved both of the main characters. Ana is so strong and yet was so gentle with herself. The way that Pursell wrote the dynamics between Ana and her friends as well as Ana handles her insecurities were just amazing. Wyatt is so sweet! He is completely enthralled with Ana and everything she does. He’s also an amazing brother and guardian too!

I always love when books have mental health representation. The way that this book presents grief, trauma, body dysmorphia, etc is so authentic, raw and real.
