Beautiful art, and the story was sorta addictive. However, I do notice, as I’ve been reading more manga’s, that I find manga’s harder to follow than normal books. So I think I’ll reread this manga again, maybe soon, maybe when I get the next part, so that I fully understand the story.
(Might also do this with some other manga’s, but so far I’ve only read ones of which I’ve already seen the anime.)

Already saw the manga so it’s nothing new for me anymore, but really sweet and motivating!

One of my new favourites!

This was, as a chess-lover myself, really inspiring. Each time there was a specific opening or game mentioned I wrote it down and tried it for myself. (On the new chess set I recently got for my birthday <3).

The romance was also GREAT. Usually, I struggle with romances going too fast or lacking chemistry. This felt, mostly, full of chemistry and developed in a way that was fitting for the characters.

Random quote that fits their relationship:
“I can do it myself.”
“I know, but let me.”

-0.5 for the third act breakup and the romance getting a bit more inconsistent when they were living together.

Very cool and pretty but also really short and blandly written- felt like AI sometimes. And I didn’t really understand most of the fancy words they used. 😭🙏

Almost made me cryyyyy
Made me feel more than any other book from SJM that I've read.

Empire of Storms

Sarah J. Maas

DID NOT FINISH

I DNF'ed this a while ago, because I did NOT like how political this has become. This series was so full of action, interesting characters, and intruiging plots. Now I feel like it's just about who will become the king or queen and a war starting and whatever, and those sorts of things simply don't interest me. Also, I couldn't accept the romance. It could've been so good if I didn't accidentally keep reminding myself ''hey, they're related'' all throughout book 3 and 4. And besides, SJM did my boy Chaol SO dirty. Why did his character suddenly change so much?
Really disappointing, because I LOVED the first few books a lot. And I have the entire series on my shelves, maybe to never be finished.

I liked the fighting scenes but it was a bit too slow for me sometimes, and maybe there were a little bit too much different POV's. Still good tho

Good, but once the writer mentioned Paedyn and Rowan being family the romance-coded scenes made me puke each time. Why say, multiple times, ''haha they're related'' and then put them in romantic situations? If this romance is endgame it'll disappoint me fr.

SOMEHOW EVEN BETTER THAN N1???

SO GOOD.
