This is book is primarily about the political struggles to get the Erie Canal approved and built. I was hoping to learn more about the actual feats of construction. Not many photos, past or present.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.
Too much dialogue! Some passages border on a soliloquy they are so long. No one talks like that in a conversation. An interesting story, and it's a little dragged out.
