I adore this book series. It's witty, clever, entertaining, and keeps you guessing. Comedy horror noir is a genre I didn't know existed but here we are and not complaining about it. Do yourself a favor and introduce yourself to Matt Richter, Zombie P.I.

Are you ready?

Boy, this story takes you on one hell of a ride. Where do I begin? First of all, I think Gage really ramped it up for this one. Some of the moments are incredibly tense and I apparently found out I'm claustrophobic which I didn't know until after I read this book. Quick, fun, fast paced read. Lots of fun Easter eggs and callbacks if you're familiar with Gage's other works.

Absolutely recommend you check out this one if you're a fan or horror.

There's very few books where Abraham Lincoln, Kevin Bacon, and Miley Cyrus team up so I'd hate for you to miss out on this one.

Winter's Myth is charming, clever, and witty with an eclectic cast of memorable characters.

Winter's relationship with his two young daughters is incredibly endearing as you follow them on a journey for survival in a strange and mysterious world. The story jumps between their dangerous quest to find a new home and fantastical fairytales that Winter creates to make sense of the surface world after devastation drives them out of the only safety they've ever known and into a terrifying landscape with unlikely friends and foes.

Please support this indie author and give this series a shot if you're a fan of humor and thrills.

I kind of went into this book expecting it to be a horror book from the synopsis, and while it dances with the grotesque and macabre I would say that this is anything but horror. Its a melancholic modern fairytale with an understated message about socioeconomics and the dangers of misogyny.
