The Taming of Red Riding (A BDSM Fairy Tale) by Shelby Cross

That was so romantic! I loved it. Such escapism. I adored the description of the dynamic and of submission specifically, I felt it captured the drive to submit beautifully.

It also led me to think a lot about my submission; where I could do better, let go more, embrace it more. And yet is was still a total fantasy, a world to lose myself in for a little while.

A short but moving book, this poetically written story covers incest, eating disorders and the messed up nature of life in general from the perspective of a woman who has really been through the mill.

Harrison covers the very dark subject matter in an emotive and understanding way and without creating a book that is difficult to read. The poetic nature of her prose prevents the book feeling heavy and evokes feelings in the reader that enable a connection between them and the main protagonist. I found myself completely understanding of the situations in which she finds herself, seeing clearly how she was being manipulated and also how easy it was to manipulate her.

My favourite thing about this book was the way it was written; I love poetry and so it really appealed to that side of me.
Have You Seen Her? by Karen Rose

Another gripping read from Karen Rose, a favourite author of mine.

Despite being more heavy on the romance element than Rose's other books I really enjoyed it and found myself absolutely hooked, and wildly lusting after Agent Thatcher! Rose proves that she can write good sex just as well as she can write good crime in this novel, and boy is it good sex!

With a plot to keep you up til 3am reading (speaking from experience!), red herrings at every turn and plenty of sexual tension this books is well worth a read, especially for those with a penchant for handsome, ginger men! Rose has delivered yet another unputdownable book that will have you desperate to know how it ends!

I'm not a romance reader but I thought I'd give Nightingale Woods a try, it was written by a friend of mine so it would be rude not to! (p.s. Just because my friend wrote it doesn't mean my review is affected!)

The story follows Rachel, a very annoying, naive woman, and her affair with married man, Steve. I spent much of the book wanting to give Rachel a good slap and tell her to get a grip, I think that proves how well written the characters are!

It's very interesting to read a book from the perspective of the other woman; being kept hanging, being played. It's not often that you see that side of the story so it makes for a great read. It's also light; it doesn't require a lot of thought and doesn't leave you emotionally drained after reading. It would be a great beach book!

Oh my god I just love this book! I loved it when I read it as fanfic and I love it again, more, now.
A story of healing, love and good people doing bad things.

I cried, I swore, I laughed, I fell in love and all because the characters are so real. Despite the wild world they find themselves in, they're relatable. They're humans with flaws and shit going on in their lives and emotional baggage and all that.

The writing is amazing, the pacing is spot on, everything is just perfect.

One thing; as a Brit I did a lot of asking my American friends about all the guns in it so I could understand some of the stand offs and gun fights!
