Whoever said that romance doesn't bring anything to the table has never read authors like Kayla. Change of Pace is an emotional journey of a woman who has almost died and just wants to live, who recognises that her life has changed but struggles to integrate these changes into her life. Jesse is a survivor. She has a bucket list of things to do, but is that a way to live? Past experiences have taught her that she can't have the fairytale ending she dreamt about, and she doesn't want to be a burden. Asher has one look at her and is in love. He sees the future they could have if only Jesse got out of her head for once.

This book was much more about self-discovery than just love and smut. I don't know about anyone else, but it made me really think about what I want from my life.

Kayla wrote about some difficult topics, and maybe that's not gonna be for everyone. I'm gonna leave you with a few extraordinary quotes:

“You said you wanted to live like you were dying, but you’re not dying. You’re living. Please, live with me.”

"Living your life isn’t just about checking off items on a list and calling it a day. Living your life is doing what makes your heart happy, what makes your soul happy."

Thank you to the author for including me in the ARC team. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm not the biggest fan of the single mom trope, but I've enjoyed myself immensely, which I think speaks to Lyla's incredible writing talent. This book had so many feelings. We know Cam from the periphery of other books, and it's about time we got her story. And what a story 😍

This book had me throw my hands up with frustration, kick my feet with cuteness and loveliness, and if I could blush, I would 😊😂
So, what can you find in this story in terms of tropes?

*single mom
*cowboy
*second chance
*friends to lovers
*childhood sweethearts

What an amazing end to the series 😍
