Interesting premise of being during War of the Worlds but it drags in the middle excepting the Hyde/Griffin confrontation. Darker and a bit more sketch than first volume.

I'm going to this comic years after having seen the film, and knowing the changes make the film feel...lesser in some respects, though ultimately I'm hesitant to call either version "good," if only because the grimdark stuff Alan Moore does so much of, in my opinion, isn't great.

Fun romp; nothing life changing but still fun to see this sort of Han Solo x Lara Croft character *** up their life a bit.

Well-drawn, funny, informative and just a great autobio-comic about the author's experience being queer in Japan. Great stuff, will keep reading.

It's an enjoyable run! The art is clear, vibrant and exciting, the characters feel well realized and the stakes appropriately raised. I just really didn't like the changes to America's backstory and past--taking a "I come from a better place" and making it "I was a deluded child" is quite the wrench in the works when the character has been around for years already.

If you already love the characters from My Hero Academia you'll have a good time -- I did enjoy some focus on Tokoyami and Uraraka etc--but it isn't really that interesting overall as an overall story? Plus Mineta gets FAR too much business (as does Midnight who SHOULD NOT be teaching children. I'm not being prudish here--she's literally the sex appeal hero like, come on.). Ultimately it's fine? It's fine.

It takes a but to sort of build to what it is, mostly as it has to spend words explaining what makes the main character and his world different from ours, but its riveting once it gets going. Has some odd pacing and padding that knocked it a tad for me, as does the main character being just so strangely het for someone who has hundreds of years to taste the rainbow.
