The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
5.0
For people like me this book is the definition of perfect. The main character in this book, Charlie, doesn't really fit in with everyone in his school, or so he thinks. I suppose you could say he's a 'nobody'. Before he meets Sam and Patrick, the only friend he has is his English teacher. Personally this book has opened my eyes and made me realise that you don't have to be utterly popular with loads of friends, wearing the stylish clothes and watching the trendiest TV programmes to live a happy life. It really gets through the message that being yourself with just a few special friends is okay too, as long as you're happy. You are allowed to go on a journey with Charlie, his family and his friends in this book. There are some highs and some lows, but isn't that what life is all about? Chbosky simply shows us that there ARE perks to being a 'wallflower' .

There were times whilst reading this book where I just couldn't put it down! Honestly, I wasn't too sure about this book at the start, but I am so glad I read it! If you, like me, have doubts at the beginning, just 'CARRY ON' (you'll understand that joke if you read the book) because I guarantee you will love this book as much as I did! The characters are so loveable and I'm sure you will enjoy.
