WOW, what a journey! The stakes are so high, and so much is uncovered. & the last 20% of the book??!! I couldn’t put this book down. I just HAD to know what happened next! There is so much I want to say but I don’t want to spoil anything. There are so many twists and turns I was not anticipating.
This series will forever hold a special place in my heart. This series consumed me in the best way possible. But skies, how did it break my heart in so many ways!
The last forty pages of A Sky Beyond the Storm wrecked me. The way I criiiied! But I enjoyed seeing how Sabaa concluded the series. It was a bittersweet goodbye. There was grief, pain, and so much sorrow. But there was also so much love, hope, and moments of joy.
The women in this story are some of my favorite women in books. Helene, Laia, Afya, our Kehanni, the list goes on! Also, the representation in this series!
This book gave me butterflies, made me blush, and made me tear up. From the first page, I was hooked! And as I was reading, I couldn’t stop talking and recommending this book.
I loved the Latine representation. This book is so rich in culture, and I appreciated the parts that tackle important issues in our community. Plus all of the food! Did I mention the characters speak Spanish?? I loved these moments, especially between Damián and Mayda
This novella was SO cute! This is the perfect summer read to take with you on a trip or to read outside.
Cassandra and Cyrus haven’t seen each other since high school and both are staying at the same hotel during a trip in Mexico. They had a crush on each other that neither knew about, so their friendship did not evolve beyond that. & what are the chances they both end up at the same resort nine years later? They have a chance to catch up and the romance unfolds. I love the chemistry between Cassandra and Cyrus and also the flirty banter.
When I finished I was wishing there was more to read, and that is because I enjoyed their storyline so much. I hope to see a cameo of them in the future. Especially seeing Cassandlra’s business! I am looking forward to reading more from Miyeko.
I am so happy I finally got to begin this series! Oleander is a Desi, curvy, bisexual queen. She is unapologetically herself and is rebellious since she lives life by her terms, regardless of societal expectations. She embraces all she is and loves herself fiercely for it, and it’s super inspiring. And
Jackson is a sweetheart who goes after what he wants! He is nerdy shy, but oh so sweet. Oleander truly captured his heart from the beginning, and he does so many thoughtful and lovely things to win her heart. He plans the cutest dates, and the book's cover is from one of the cutest chapters of the book.
I appreciate how this book tackled some serious topics. I felt that Anna handled these issues with so much care. I was rooting for these two the entire time. I enjoyed this Ollie and Jackson’s story, and I do plan to read the entire series!
The journey this book put me through… and to think there are two more books?? I cried and held my breath multiple times. I cannot imagine what else can happen from here. I enjoyed seeing the growth of the characters and the found family. I also loved the new POV we have in this book. I absolutely enjoy Sabaa’s writing. I hang onto every word she writes.
am filing this under “Books I didn’t expect to make me cry” 😭 The grip this story had on my heart. This story is about a young boy, Tiền, who is finding a way to come out to his Vietnamese parents and in the midst of that, we learn about their lives, heartbreaks, but most of all love for one another other. I love books that highlight navigating two cultures, countries, and languages.
What I loved:
-How the story line would change colors
-The friendships <3
-Tiền’a relationship with his mother
-the artwork!
-the blend of Vietnamese fairy tales
What I loved:
-The Found Family <3
-Vera Wong. She is fierce and witty and says exactly what is on her mind. I would visit her tea shop and sit and talk with her.
-Multiple POVs
-The cast of characters
-The foods mentioned (!!!)
This book had me secretly wishing I could pause on all my responsibilities just to read this book. I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH! & I feel like even saying that does not encompass my feelings 🤭 This is hands down of my favorite fantasy book I have ever read!
Bo and Win have the cutest romance, and I had a blast watching it unfold. There was a scene where I squealed, “THEY ARE IN LOVE,” and don’t you love when we know characters are in love and are waiting for them to catch up??? This book was just so cute. I even cried BECAUSE IT IS SO cute.
What I loved:
-The commutation between the characters
-The disability rep
-The friendships
-Hannah’s writing (!!!)
-The humor
-no third-act breakup
-The chapter with the box scene (I cried!)
