Conceptually, this book is so interesting. If there’d been more focus on world building or character building, I would have enjoyed much more. Mostly just felt confused and annoyed while reading.

The meat of this book was great, full of complex relationships and feelings, and I loved learning about Deaf history. My main gripe is that the ending was so anticlimatic, especially since the opening of the novel sets it up in a thriller/mystery vibe but we don’t even get to what’s happening until the last 20 pages.
