I wasn’t feeling this and the main protagonist sisters were already annoying me.

Fantastic novel! I’m so impressed with this story!

I love Rosie as protagonist! She definitely lived up to the Falcon Queen’s rules! I was so intrigued by how the students family’s are tied to royalty. The Falcon Queen games was really fun to follow. I liked the mystery that Rosie uncovered about the island’s wildlife.

I’m so curious to see where this story goes from here!

Cute idea, but nothing that memorable. If this was a full length novel flushed out more I think I would’ve liked it better.

I did not care for this at all. Kenji, as per usual, was the only good part.

And ending it right before the wedding???????

A good holiday season read. The fake dating trope always is a funny one.

I received this book via the author in exchange for an honest review.

Perfection for a sequel! I could not ask for anything better! I adored every single second reading this. The emotional rollercoaster this novel brought me. Katherine Quinn wrote a beautiful, dark, and exciting duology with deep in depth characters and world building. I love that the theme of found family and friendship still held strong through this novel. It felt like a perfect flow continuation of the story from where we left off in To Kill a Shadow.

The adventure we follow our characters on was engaging, exciting, and nerve wracking for sure. The battles they went through to get to where they needed had me on edge. That plot twist at the end!!!!! I did NOT seeing that coming and I was so shook. The twist had me re-reading the paragraph to make sure it was real!

I LOVED that we had Kiara as a shadow wielder. Watching her be tempted by the shadows, but being able to bring herself back from the brink top tier.
Her battle through the story was incredible. I also really liked that Kiara was the shadows side and Jude was the light. It was nice seeing the fmc be tempted by dark instead of the mmc.

The duel POV again worked well in this book. The switch back and forth flowed perfectly. I really liked the progression and pace as well. It was well done and did not feel rushed. I was so intrigued with how the plot went and I loved learning more about the world.

Jude & Kiara quickly became two of my favorite characters I have ever read about. I adore their relationship as friends and even more as a couple. The way they care for each other had me yelling. We love a good touch them and you suffer for it plotline. Their relationship blossomed so perfectly through the duology.

I can’t recommend this duology enough! I will also never stop yelling about how good it is!
