I really liked this. The characters had great chemistry. I liked the lack of drama. There were just a few moments that dragged on, and the arguments (internal to the MCs’ thoughts, or between the MCs and their respective friends) sometimes felt a bit repetitive.

The first half of this I was like “wow, five stars, this is definitely going to be in my top ten favourite books, I can’t wait for her to get with Kade too” and then we got to know Kade better and I was like “wow I don’t actually care about Kade, they’re kind of annoying and mostly just a boring non-entity, I miss Bebe” and Bebe also just became a one note character whose single personality trait was “kind of just excited and peppy.” I also found the sexual dynamics between each of the characters kind of uncomfortable.

So the romance fell flat, but I guess I was still invested in the mixology side of things.

Really loved the narrator. Loved getting insight into Olivia—really redeemed her after not seeming very nice in the first book. Loved the pairing. Loved the conversation about ADHD and being neurodivergent in general. So excited for the next book in the series!

This was mostly an enjoyable read, up until the third act breakup. I really hate when an MC storms off and gets angry because they think the other MC has gotten back with their toxic ex. Also, how did it take two months for the sister to fess up to what she had done??? And how will the sister ever be forgiven?

Still, the book was cute enough I want to read the rest of the series.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 9%.
This whole series makes me feel slightly uncomfortable the whole time. There’s just something yucky and stressful about it. The characters never feel like they are actually a good fit for each other which makes their interactions uncomfortable. The power dynamics are never handled particularly well. There’s a serial rapist walking around who never faces any real consequences. The way the “clingy ex” is handled is really gross. And also I just don’t like constant descriptions of abused animals.

I haven’t been a huge fan of this series so far. Regarding this book in particular, I wasn’t a fan of how Catherine was made to feel bad for assuming Emily was shallow because she was Ruth. That is a perfectly valid assumption to make! If you are writing a rich girl/ poor girl romance, the onus should be on the rich character to prove they aren’t a shithead, not on the poor girl to get over her hangups that are based in socioeconomic reality.

This trope-tasting and fourth-wall-breaking romance was very enjoyable. I didn’t connect with it quite as much as the first book in the series, but I would still recommend it, and am looking forward to the next entry in the series.

I really loved this combination of second-chance romance and Romeo & Juliet-style enemies-to-lovers romance. I loved hearing all about the different traditional and modern Cuban foods, and it made me very hungry! The audiobook narrator is brilliant, giving both main characters distinct voices and personalities, and is great at all the side characters too.

This book is so beautiful. I love the relationship that develops between the main characters so much. This book has everything I want in a nanny romance and more.
