This book was okay. It was very much like the Alien Warrior series by Penelope Fletcher. While I moderately enjoyed this book, I started to read the next in the series only to decide it was exactly like the 1st but with different characters as the focus. I ended up sort of board and didn't finish.

This series is pretty good, although I think I mostly had a soft spot for it because it reminds me of the Night Huntress series and Night Huntress World. Sam and Jared have a lot of similarities with Cat and Bones, although, admittedly Bones would never be considered sexist. I enjoyed the 1st three books the most as they were focused on Sam and Jared. After that, the series is about other squad members.

This one is about Salem and Ava. I really liked Ava, however Salem was a little much and insistent that they be together. I don't like that the dudes are so protective of the girls. I mean, the girls are part of the Legion. The protective male thing is too much for me. This whole series could be called the "Here be sexist vampires" series.

I quit reading this one. The dominant male thing was starting to get on my nerves. He was kind of a dick, and the lead character didn't want to want him because he was such a dick, and it made me kind of furious when they would get together.

I really enjoyed this book, more than I thought I would. The male lead was dominant but not a dick. And it was nice to see him learning to be polite and asking, rather than ordering the female character around.
One thing I did not care for: A black silk shirt tucked into black jeans. Not sexy.

I liked this book okay. I really like Grace Draven's character and relationship development. But I found this book to be a little too Beauty-and-the-beast for me. Of course, there were lost of differences, and it was a well written story with well-developed characters.
