This just was not good. I had high hopes for it and wanted something cute and supernatural. The art style was cute but the skin tone of the Black characters was ashy from time to time. Characters were poorly established and the emotional stakes around them and what was happening to them were never felt. The plot was rushed and messy. It either needed more pages or to be cut and reworked entirely.
Cw: teen pregnancy (mentioned), fire, abandonment, grief, near drowning, child abuse (physical and emotional)
This is a beautiful and speculative story about healing, about finding yourself, about finding a family.

Dave Sharpe, Pete Pantazis, Michael Spicer, Marguerite Sauvage, Francis Portela, Andrew Dalhouse, Jody Houser, Stephanie Hans, Joe QuiƱones
CW: antisemitism
I was not feeling too hot about this volume in the first place but then the villainous group turned out to be a group of humanoid aliens who inserted themselves into positions of power in politics, Hollywood, and business and then decided to get revenge on humanity after humans killed thousands of them. Oh and also they have mind control powers. Which. That's antisemitic if you hadn't already realized.
