The first in the Steel Berserkers MC series, Pieces of me explores the very real long term effects of physical and mental abuse. Readers with triggers for DV, SA, mental health and violence should consider these before reading.

I really enjoyed how the main male character, Hoyt, tried to understand the issues that Selene (MFC) and her sister face.  He has to change his approach to many things, which we don’t often see in a alpha male character.

There is a good level of spice going on in this book. Along with some really complex support characters, it’s a perfect start to a series.

Shadow is Part 2 in the three way cross over of the Diamondback Mc, Golden Skulls Mc, and The Soulless Sinners Mc.

This book starts with the situation that brings Shadow to Lawton. This does two things - firstly, that you can read this book without having read Kansas first. Second, we get to view the scenes from Kansas from Shadow’s perspective. Rebecca Joyce writes this with great finesse - it’s not a regurgitation of existing information, but full of new insights.

I particularly like how Rebecca Joyce handles the difficult topics in this trilogy cross over - PTSD from horrific acts, whether as the perpetrator or victim, mental health issues, homosexuality and homophobia. It’s all realistic, but also sensitive, while exploring the issues of unconscious bias and acceptance of peoples differences.

As can be expected with Rebecca Joyce, there is some gorgeous spice mixed with sweet emotional connection, over protective men and enough twists to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Wrath is being groomed to take over as Club Enforcers for Satan’s Fury Mc… problem is, he has just hooked up with the current Enforcers only daughter.

I’ll admit that I struggled with the first quarter of this book. It starts with a Friends to Friends with benefits vibe, which isn’t my favourite. Once the characters accept their relationship and share it with the club, I really got into the story.

There is an overarching story line for the “Big Bad” which drives the series forward, along with a changing of the guard to the next generation of club leadership. I’m enjoying seeing the first generation age disgracefully!

Wrath is book 3 in the second generation of Satan’s Fury Mc. While it can be read as a stand alone, for best enjoyment I would recommend reading Books 1 (Q) and 2 (Bones) first. For optimal background and understanding , start with the first generation (starting with Maverick).
