This is one of the more immersive books I’ve read. Baldwin truly has a talent with both the language and the narrative elements of this book being captivating.

I think it was an amazing book, but personally I struggled with it only because I went into reading highly unprepared. I would definitely recommend further reading into satre before starting this book.

A good introduction to philosophy and even mathematical proof to degree. I think this book was very good the only reason I have rated it so low is due to my personal lack of interest as I normally prefer more moral philosophical texts.

A masterpiece. I truly think this is one of the best books I have read for both entertainment but also spiritual nourishment. Despite the author himself being a christian and furthermore canonised, there is little emphasis on Christianity in his Utopia but instead a society based on common morality and good, allowing for his utopia to be applicable to varied demographics. On top of this I found the book delightfully comprehensive, once again encouraging a wider range of influence. Finally I enjoyed this as a historical text and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in communism and Marxist ideals.

A good introductory piece but lacking a lot of the finer details, limiting one’s perspective on Mao himself.

I was honestly unable to put this book down. The book truly engaged all of my emotions in a way very few pieces of literature have managed to. I would highly recommend this, especially to individuals who are interested in Chinese history.

One of the most captivating non fictions I have personally read. I found the artistic examples used throughout were both beautiful and explained in an exceptional manner. All in all I really enjoyed this book, although I would have enjoyed more depth in regards to some subjects covered.

I enjoyed the themes of religion, human nature and social injustice within these short stories, although I found some of the endings predictable/repetitive.

Great political and narrative qualities although I found Orwell’s use of literary /language devises lacking and therefore limiting my personal enjoyment of the text.
