A romance book author saw Succession and said ‘ok but what if this was a romance book? With no fighting in the family? And the billionaire still doesn’t care about people at the end of the book only money for the company? And also they work at disney?’

A 2 is generous. Noah Slade is quite literally the most unlikeable mmc I have ever read jesus fucking christ. The man literally says he doesn’t USUALLY respect women, but for Maya he’ll make an exception. DIOS MIO SANTO ES QUE HAY QUE TENER UNOS GUAYABITOS EN LA AZOTEA BIEN FUCKING ALGAROS PARA QUE TE ENAMORES DE ESTE HOMBRE. The misogyny from Noah and the internalized misogyny from Maya, made me gag. And the slut-shaming?? I can’t believe I’m defending Noah, but who cares if he slept with all of Europe before meeting Maya?? The whole point is that he no longer wants to sleep with anyone else, no??
Also, at times, the wonky ass writing feels as though you’re reading a skit written by teenagers for a highschool class. The only times I liked the writing was when they were describing the races. Which tracks since the only reason I started reading this book was because someone said that the romance was ‘cute and all’, but the races were the best parts.
And, once more, it is so funny as a native spanish speaker to read non-spanish speakers write characters who speak spanish. It wasn’t as cringey as other books I’ve read tho. Just funny in that aspect.

I know I liked it. But the end was so lovey dovey and my life is so not lovey dovey and now I’m going to go cry in a corner.

The way im still waiting to know who olivia was or the other man oleander had mentioned she hated who seemed to have been like an old boyfriend or something or what the fuck happened to sage.
Also, Nox and North being my favorites should be enough for me to know that i need a lot of therapy.

Better than the last one and no its not bc North is on the cover I would never base my review on something as shallow as that.

Its because North is on the cover.

Take a shot everytime it says ‘she needed to plunge her feet in the snow’ and you die from alcohol poisoning before finishing a certain chapter. I wish I was kidding.

This was definitely a fun read. There were a few things here and there that sort of gave me an ick, but it wasn’t enough to make me stop reading so thats a good sign.
The worst thing about it is that Raffiel is killed two pages after he is revealed to be alive. Like. What the fuck. Kill him in book 2! Don’t kill him literally seconds after you introduce him!! In what mind does that make sense!!
